Your Opportunity:South Health Campus (SHC) services Calgary and the surrounding rural areas and was designed as a referral Centre for Southern Alberta. South Health Campus\'s operational philosophy has been built on Four Pillars: Collaborative Practice, Wellness, Patient and Family Centered Care, and Innovation. These pillars guide the development and delivery of service to all patients and families at South Health Campus. The Allied Health department at South Health Campus provides services to inpatient units and outpatient service areas. Under general supervision from the Allied Health Assistant Manager and support from the Clinical Practice Leader, this Physiotherapist I position is primarily responsible for providing direct patient care within our In-patient team. The caseload for this position may include the following areas: general medicine, neuro, orthopedic surgery, short-stay and critical care (Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department). This position may also provide weekend coverage on a rotational basis. Excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently organize and prioritize workload to keep pace in a busy multi-disciplinary patient care environment are required. Problem-solving, critical thinking and conflict-resolution skills are also essential in this position. All Physiotherapists hired into inpatient positions within the Allied Health Department at South Health Campus are required to develop the competency to help cover critical care areas (i.e., Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department). This position is physically demanding and requires repetitive lifting and transferring of patients and/or equipment. The caseload for all positions within the Allied Health department may be subject to change based on operational considerations.Description:As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:Bachelor\'s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. Additional Required Qualifications:Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Experience working in an acute care setting within the last 5 years. Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an adult urban acute care/hospital in the following areas: Orthopedics, General Medicine, and Critical Care within the last 2 years.
