Your Opportunity:Are you a physiotherapist who is looking for an opportunity in the area of neurological rehabilitation? Are you looking for a dynamic, collaborative team environment? The Community Accessible Rehabilitation (CAR) program might be the place for you. CAR is an outpatient rehabilitation program that supports clients who have transitioned out of acute/tertiary care and who have functional-based rehabilitation goals that can be addressed in a short-term community-based program. The CAR physiotherapist (PT) will support direct patient care in the areas of complex and chronic neurological rehabilitation (eg: stroke, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson\'s) as well as lower extremity amputees. Approximately 80% of the role will be assigned to direct clinical care of clients. We are looking for a PT with extensive clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of clients with complex neurological conditions who demonstrates leadership in the area of evidence-based practice. The PT works as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team and will operate in a client-centered, functional, outcome-based rehabilitation model. CAR is a multisite program and this position is based out of the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary. The caseload for all positions within CAR may be subject to change based on operational considerations.Description:As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:Bachelor\'s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. Additional Required Qualifications:At least 1 years of recent experience (in past 3 years) working in an adult neuro rehabilitation setting. Experience working with clients who are post-stroke and acquired brain injury. Recent experience (in past 3 years) working on an interdisciplinary team in a community-based program. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Current Heart and Stroke BLS certification. Basic computer skills required. Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with lower extremity amputees.
