Your Opportunity:

RGH is a metropolitan hospital with over 600 inpatient beds, also the main site for urology and ophthalmology specialties. RGH is located next to the scenic Glenmore Reservoir in Southwest Calgary. RGH Allied Health department works collaboratively with all clinical teams: Emergency, ICU/CCU, Medical/Surgical Units, Transition Units, Mental Health, Orthopedics and the Acute Geriatric Units. This position may provide coverage to all service areas listed above. Operating under a Primary Therapist model and working in conjunction with an Occupational Therapist, this Physiotherapy role involves assessing, treating, and discharging patients. Job duties will be varied and will require a comprehensive range of Physiotherapy skills. The environment can be challenging and fast-paced, so we are looking for a clinician that demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work cohesively in an inter-disciplinary setting. You will be effective in time management and demonstrate professional initiative. You will also be a critical thinker with the ability to work autonomously, and demonstrate good team player qualities of humility and compassion, easily getting along with your peers, and showing a focus on PFCC. This position is physically demanding and requires repetitive lifting and transferring of patients and/or equipment. Weekend and evening coverage and student supervision is expected for all positions on the Physiotherapy team. Caseloads for all positions within the AH department may be subject to change based on operational considerations. Hours and days of work will be discussed with the successful candidate.

Description:

As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor\'s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. Additional Required Qualifications:

Current (BCLS-HCP) required. Experience as a Physiotherapist in urban adult Acute Care within the last two years. Preferred Qualifications:

1+ years of experience in adult acute care, within the past 5 years. Experience as a physiotherapist at Rockyview General Hospital. Experience working with the Arthroplasty Discharge program. Experience working in medical-surgical units. Experience working on transition and sub-acute units. Experience in Wound Care. Experience working with geriatric populations. Surgical/orthopedic experience. Proven track record of excellent communication and teamwork.
