Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The PTA will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to support patient recovery and rehabilitation across various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and acute care environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, along with experience in diverse patient populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and sports medicine. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care plans and discharge planning efforts while gaining valuable clinical experience.

Duties



Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients across outpatient, inpatient, and home health settings. Perform therapeutic interventions including trigger point therapy and other manual techniques to alleviate pain and improve mobility. Support patient care by monitoring progress, providing education on exercises, and ensuring safety during therapy sessions. Prepare treatment areas, set up equipment, and maintain cleanliness of therapy spaces. Document patient responses and progress accurately in accordance with healthcare regulations and facility policies. Participate in discharge planning by educating patients and caregivers on ongoing exercises and care strategies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and other specialties. Maintain professional knowledge of physiotherapy practices, medical terminology, and relevant clinical procedures.

Requirements



Proven experience or training in physiotherapy assistance within outpatient clinics, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, home health services, or acute care environments. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and various therapeutic techniques including trigger point therapy. Strong understanding of care plans tailored for diverse populations such as geriatrics and pediatrics. Experience working with orthopedic cases or in specialized areas like sports medicine or outpatient therapy is preferred. Ability to support discharge planning processes effectively. Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Certification or licensing as a Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) is required or preferred depending on regional regulations. Ability to work independently while following supervision from licensed physical therapists. Compassionate attitude with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care across multiple healthcare settings.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
