Job Description

The Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) supports the delivery of physiotherapy services to residents in a long-term care setting. Under the supervision and direction of a licensed physiotherapist, the PTA helps implement individualized treatment plans to promote mobility, physical functioning, and quality of life for residents

Assist the physiotherapist in implementing therapeutic interventions and exercise programs. Work one-on-one or in small groups with residents to carry out prescribed physiotherapy routines. Monitor resident performance during therapy and report progress, difficulties, or changes to the supervising physiotherapist. Support residents with mobility and functional activities such as transfers, ambulation, and use of assistive devices. Ensure safe and appropriate use of physiotherapy equipment and maintain cleanliness and organization in therapy areas. Encourage resident participation and motivation through compassionate, respectful care. Assist with assessments by collecting and reporting relevant information to the physiotherapist. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to support residents' overall care plans. Complete appropriate maintenance and tracking of mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers, etc) Conduct Safe Handling and Mobility training for staff.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.14-$24.32 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
