If you have a science background and are interested in supporting radiation therapy patients, we invite applications for the position of Physics Associate in Winnipeg, MB. Qualifications for the ideal candidate are:
A graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiology Technology, Radiation Therapy, Laboratory Technology and/or individuals with a University Degree in Physics, Chemistry or other appropriate related discipline
Experience and/or training in physical measurement techniques and equipment is strongly preferred
Attention to detail, proficient in maintaining accurate records
Excellent problem-solving skills
Computer proficiency, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Excellent oral and written communication skills, superior interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently
As part of the Radiation Therapy Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Daily/monthly/annual Quality Assurance, and assisting with acceptance testing/commissioning of radiation therapy equipment and the associated instrumentation
Treatment planning/clinical trial support
Patient specific Quality Assurance
Other duties applicable to the operation of Radiotherapy Physics, as required
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Flexible working hours and non-standard shift schedules may be required to accommodate clinical responsibilities
Travel between Brandon and Winnipeg may be required
Ability to lift at least 20 lbs
