About the Opportunity

As a member of the Medical Affairs portfolio, the Physician Recruitment Consultant reports to the Manager, Physician Recruitment and works collaboratively with the Zone Medical Executive Director, the department heads and site leads to support the recruitment of physicians to areas of need across Nova Scotia Health. This role requires working with physician applicants through the full recruitment cycle, including providing support in navigating complex licensure and, immigration processes.

The incumbent ensures the development of a collaborative and strategic approach to recruitment and retention, resource planning and the privileging and credentialing functions. The Physician Recruitment Consultant leads the development of these activities in a manner consistent with the overall strategic direction of the organization. Valuing teamwork, the consultant works with the Medical Affairs team and local physician leadership to establish and maintain positive professional relationships with physicians, community and government partners.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelors Degree in relevant and related field
  • Minimum 3 years recent and relevant recruitment experience required
  • Recent and relevant sales and marketing experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position
  • Knowledge and understanding of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and Canadian College of Family Physicians eligibility and licensing requirements
  • General knowledge of the federal and provincial legislation governing medical services and working knowledge of the development process for Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules & Regulations
  • Superior marketing, social media, and public relations skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally to present practice opportunities in a positive manner
  • Exhibits a high energy level, and demonstrates the ability to work as a team, with flexibility in work habits to schedule and meet the needs of the medical staff
  • Demonstrates the ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize a large volume of detail-oriented work in accordance with changing deadlines
  • Demonstrates experience in initiating and managing multiple projects
  • Possesses extensive experience in the application of spreadsheets and database development management and analysis
  • Has knowledge of recruitment, human resource management and HR planning processes
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to effectively organize heavy workloads, take initiative and be self- disciplined
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills required
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, financial management, project management, research writing and analysis
  • Strong computer technology skills including, but not limited to, virtual meeting platforms, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Effective team develop and leader
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

Long assignment, full-time position, 75 hrs bi-weekly
Beginning as soon as possible with an expected end date of August 21, 2024 (Approximately 12 months)

Compensation and Incentives

$34.07 - $42.60 Hourly
