About the Role

The MSK Centre in Waterloo is seeking a skilled and motivated

Orthopaedic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA)

to join our team of orthopaedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians. This is a permanent role focused on

outpatient musculoskeletal care

.

As part of our clinical team, the PA will play an integral role in delivering high-quality patient care, supporting both surgical and non-surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions in a busy outpatient environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments (histories and physical exams) Order and interpret diagnostic studies (imaging, labs) Prescribe and administer intra-articular injections under physician delegation Manage outpatient follow-ups and ongoing care plans Educate patients on conservative management, rehabilitation strategies, and post-operative protocols Coordinate care and referrals to physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and other specialists Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications & Requirements

Mandatory / Strongly Preferred:

Good standing with the

Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA)

Successful completion of the

PACCC National Certification Exam

Registered (or eligible) with the

College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)

Graduate of a recognized Canadian or U.S. accredited PA program Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills Excellent communication and patient education abilities Proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team

Assets / Additional Strengths:

Experience in musculoskeletal medicine and/or orthopaedics Proficiency in intra-articular injection techniques Familiarity with rehabilitation principles and multidisciplinary MSK care Experience with EMRs (Accuro preferred) and clinical documentation standards
