Position Overview

The High School Phys-Ed Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering a dynamic physical education curriculum that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, skill development, and healthy lifestyles among students. The teacher will create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that supports all students' physical, social, and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive PE curriculum for grade 9/10 students. Teach a variety of physical activities, including individual and team sports, movement games, fitness routines, and health education topics. Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students with diverse abilities and backgrounds. Promote positive behaviour, sportsmanship, and mutual respect during all activities. Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback. Ensure the safety of students by maintaining a well-supervised and orderly class environment. Organize and support athletic events, sports clubs, or extracurricular activities. Maintain PE equipment and materials in good condition. Collaborate with other faculty members to support cross-curricular initiatives and student development.

Qualifications

Experience working with adolescents in physical education, coaching team sports, leadership skills development and/or other experiential education settings. Current First Aid and CPR certification. Clean Vulnerable Sector Check. Familiarity with Waldorf pedagogy and/or interest in holistic education strongly preferred.

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
