Overview

Our Health Care Payment Services department is looking for a phone control clerk to handle incoming health care payment related inquiries from workers, medical communities, and internal staff. If you enjoy interacting with others to assist and address their questions and concerns, consider joining us for this temporary assignment of approximately 18 months.

At this time, this is a hybrid position where you will work primarily at home and may be required to be on-site at least once per week at our Richmond office.

What you'll do

As a phone control clerk you will:

  • Answer payment inquiries from a phone queue system
  • Address clients' questions where possible or elevate the inquiry to an internal resource who can best address the inquiry
  • Forward reprocessing tasks to internal resources in situations where items discovered in the course of answering phone queries would require further attention
  • Initiate expedited entitlement requests with the Health Benefits Unit for providers or workers requiring speedy reimbursement due to financial hardship or unexpected delays
  • Investigate and review invoices to provide details as requested

Your experience and educational background:
  • A minimum of grade 12 education
  • A minimum of six months of recent, related work experience in a clerical role
