Liquid biopsy may also help to safely monitor cancer patients in remission to provide early warning of recurrence.In 2021 ANGLE opened GCLP compliant clinical laboratories in Guildford (UK) and in the Greater Philadelphia area (USA) to provide "pharma services" for cancer drug trials and, once the labs are accredited, laboratory developed tests (LDTs) for patient management.In May 2022, ANGLE achieved FDA clearance for a novel medical device for the capture and harvest of circulating tumour cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast cancer patient blood for subsequent analysis.Join our Team: This is an exciting time at ANGLE, and we are looking for a Phlebotomist / Laboratory Associate based in Toronto. The Phlebotomist / Laboratory Associateis responsible for the enrolment and coordination of volunteers for blood donation. The Phlebotomist / Laboratory Associate also performs phlebotomy services for the collection and preparation of volunteer blood through venipuncture for use in the development, validation and quality control of ANGLE's instruments, devices, and assays. The role requires interaction with donors, confidential record keeping and the general maintenance of the phlebotomy facility and supplies. As necessary, the role may also include general laboratory and equipment maintenance. Manage healthy volunteer blood donor recruitment in accordance with company's ethically approved procedure, including booking and logging appointments for blood donors Meet and greet donors and ensure accurate completion of donor questionnaires Liaise with company scientists and R&D managers to arrange appointments of blood donors for blood draw Obtain blood specimens by venipuncture Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following company's procedures Track collected specimens using the company's documentation system Process blood samples as appropriate for downstream processing Support, where required, general stock keeping, ordering of laboratory supplies, and laboratory management/maintenance Undertake additional ad hoc / project work as required Perform such other duties and responsibilities that are consistent with the role of a Phlebotomist / Laboratory Associate or as may be assigned from time to time.Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Attributes: Minimum Secondary School Diploma or equivalent Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience Working knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements (e.g. cGCLP, ISO, CLIA, OSHA, HAZCOM) Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong scientific/technical aptitude Good visual inspection skills combined with tolerance for repetitive work Absolute integrity and respect for patient confidentiality when dealing with donor samples Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills Exceptional organizational and time management skills Willingness and flexibility in undertaking new tasks Committed to continuous improvement of processes and/or products Strong commitment to producing high quality results in support of project goals Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment An eye for detail and commitment to high quality data Continuous learner with a keen appetite for cross-disciplinary work A flexible, can-do approach to the requirements of the job Entrepreneurial thinking and work ethicJob Type: Full-timeSchedule:
