Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

The PHIMS & Data Clerk is responsible for handling all PHIMS and data entry at the vaccine clinics during clinic hours. This position is critical to accurate information regarding client files as well as inventory for the vaccine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for entering a high volume of data into the PHIMS system (the Public Health Information Management System) and providing additional support.
  • Maintaining computer and data catalog systems.
  • Developing and updating administrative systems to make them more efficient
  • Resolving administrative problems.
  • Applying the policies related to the role, including The Personal Health Information Act.
  • Communicating with the internal leadership on priorities.
Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven data entry skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of products
  • Work-related experience performing clerical functions on computer systems (Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access).
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Experience using PHIMS is desirable or an equivalent data system.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships and interact effectively with team members, clients, and the general public.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and manage conflicting demands.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to handle sensitive information and always maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) in both official languages (French and English) is an asset.
