Certification from a recognized Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Assistant program

Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Greet patients and healthcare providers in person and by phone; answer questions and direct inquiries to the pharmacist when appropriate
Prepare, compound, and dispense medications and pharmaceutical products in accordance with prescriptions and pharmacy standards
Manage pharmacy inventory by checking stock levels, placing and expediting orders, and removing expired or outdated medications
Resolve issues as they arise, including rejected or problematic insurance claims
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized pharmacy environment in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
Complete administrative and record-keeping tasks as assigned
Process and verify prescriptions in accordance with provincial regulations and pharmacy policies
Perform technical checks of prescriptions where authorized, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness
Assist pharmacists with clinical and workflow support to ensure timely and safe dispensing
Communicate effectively with prescribers, insurance providers, and healthcare professionals to clarify prescriptions or resolve issues
Ensure compliance with privacy legislation, controlled drug regulations, and documentation standards
Support training and mentoring of pharmacy assistants or students, as needed
