Duties and Responsibilities:




Under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist or a Registered Pharmacy technician;

Ensure appropriate documentation for dispensing, crediting returns, and monitoring expiry dates, stock levels, etc.; Prepare bulk-compounded products as required; Monitor expiry dates and remove expired products for disposal, destruction or return to manufacturer consistent with facility policies and manufacturers, protocols; Process expired narcotics and controlled drug to obtain approval for proper disposal; Dispense in blister package, dossett or other patient adherence device as required; Using the appropriate pharmacy information system, place orders maintaining appropriate documentation, e.g., purchase order, receiving report, packing slip, invoice and other relevant documentation; Compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act; established infection and prevention control best practices (e.g. IPAC core competencies); and Code of Ethics from the Ontario College of Pharmacists.

Qualifications



Enrolled at a recognized Pharmacy technician program at Community College;

Prior experience in implementing pharmacy automation system preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Kroll software an asset; Strong skills in pharmaceutical calculations; computerized materiel management and inventory control procedures an asset; Familiarity with basic medication safety principles; Good record of attendance and punctuality; Ability to work independently and as part of the pharmacy team.
