What we are looking for:
As a member of a highly autonomous Pharmacy Technician team, and working in collaboration with the Clinical Pharmacists, you will provide safe and effective drug distribution services to Markham Stouffville Hospital, Uxbridge Hospital and the Reactivation Care Centre. This will include unit dose bin filling using pharmacy automated equipment, sterile and non-sterile compounding, chemotherapy preparation, prepackaging and narcotics and unit stocking responsibilities. You will have the opportunity to participate in various committees and share your expertise (i.e. Drugs and Therapeutics, Safe Medication Practice, etc.).
What you bring to Oak Valley Health:Completion of a recognized college level Pharmacy Technician program
Regulated as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacist
Previous hospital experience with automated unit-dose drug distribution systems including automated dispensing units (ADUs) and IV admixture systems, with experience in aseptic preparation of parenteral and chemotherapy products is preferred
Proficient computer skills
Well-developed organizational and prioritization skills coupled with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work on projects as assigned by the Manager
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
Sound independent work habits coupled with proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
Work Schedule:
The successful candidate will be available to work 8 hour shifts, days and evenings; weekdays and occasional weekends as well.
