As a member of the Peace River Health Complex Team, the Technician will work with Assistants and Pharmacists working to their full scope of practice. This position will cover Peace River and Grimshaw hospital pharmacies. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Core duties may include. Medication preparation, repackaging, and final product checking, individual patient prescriptions, and wardstock. Knowledge of purchasing, receiving, & inventory control of pharmaceuticals to minimize outdated medications, and provision of ward stock. Providing guidance to and assisting with the training and orientation of staff and students. Participating in special projects and programs assigned. Maintaining department records, statistics, and preparing reports as required. Building interactive relationships with all members of the healthcare team including communicating with nursing staff to clarify orders and requests, triaging drug information questions and distribution issues, providing zone support to program when required. Participate in special projects, perform other duties deemed necessary or assigned. Must be in good physical condition as the majority of shifts involve static positions, moderate lifting, crouching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
Description:
As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician. Additional Required Qualifications:
2+ Years Regulated Pharmacy Technician with Alberta College of Pharmacists. Demonstrate proficiency in the following: communication (verbal and written), interpersonal abilities, organizational and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and in teams as required, computer skills, continual personal quality improvement and lifelong learning. Preferred Qualifications:
Local Site knowledge or experience is an asset. Prior hospital experience with a variety of responsibilities. Epic Computer Software: 1+ yr experience dispensing, and inventory management. Membership with a pharmacy professional organization. Preceptor for student placements.
