Your Opportunity:
As a member of the Peace River Hospital Pharmacy Team, the Pharmacy Technician will work with Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacists working to their full scope of practice. Pharmacy Technicians work collaboratively within the health care team performing moderately complex duties, performing all aspects of drug distribution to provide efficient daily operation of all departmental services leading to safe and quality patient care. There is the potential to provide coverage at other pharmacies withing the Northwest zone if interested. Medication preparation, repackaging and final product checking non-sterile products, individual patient prescriptions and wardstock. Knowledge of purchasing, receiving, & inventory control of pharmaceuticals to minimize outdated medications, and provision of ward stock. Providing guidance to & assisting with the training and orientation of staff and students. Participating in special projects and programs as assigned. Maintaining department records, statistics and preparing reports as required. Building interactive relationships with all members of the healthcare team including communicating with nursing staff to clarify orders and requests, triaging drug information questions and distribution issues, providing zone support to program when required. Participate in special projects, performs other duties deemed necessary or assigned. Maintain department records, statistics and preparing reports as required. Must be in good physical condition as majority of shift involves static positions, heavy lifting, crouching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
Description:
As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
