We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacy operations by preparing and dispensing medications, providing exceptional patient service, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Duties
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques.
Manage medication intake processes, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to protocols.
Provide patient service by answering questions, clarifying medication instructions, and supporting patient care initiatives.
Maintain accurate inventory records, restock supplies, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
Support critical care and acute care units by understanding medical terminology and assisting with specialized medication needs.
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, including aseptic techniques during sterile compounding.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate medication administration and optimize patient outcomes.
Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, prescription processing, and documentation in accordance with pharmacy policies.
Experience
Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred, especially in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings.
Experience with medication administration, IV infusion preparation, and aseptic techniques is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to acute care and critical care environments.
Familiarity with pharmacy operations involving intake processes and patient service functions.
Certification as a pharmacy technician or relevant licensure is advantageous. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety. Candidates should have experience working in fast-paced healthcare settings with a focus on medication by management and patient care excellence.
