Your Opportunity:
The Pharmacy Connect initiative is a major strategic priority of Pharmacy Services' that will transform medication distribution across the provincial hospital system. The initiative involves several interrelated projects, including bringing new technologies and equipment into use. This position will play a role in validating data in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) software. You will contribute to changes in day-to-day hospital Pharmacy operations with lasting positive impacts on the quality and safety of care of patients, on the services Pharmacy provides, on the wellbeing of Pharmacy staff, and that will contribute to sustainability of quality healthcare. Project team members are highly motivated team players. The successful applicant possesses exceptional knowledge about medication distribution, and has experience with project work, use of information systems, making improvements, and participating in leading change.
Description:
As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician. Additional Required Qualifications:
Possesses comprehensive knowledge and experience in medication distribution and related legislation, regulations, procedures and technology, allowing complex problem solving. Experience with assessing and confirming accuracy of data in information systems, with extremely high attention to detail. Involved in data gathering and analysis and develops recommendations for improvement of services. Engages stakeholders in change process, understands impact on both internal and external stakeholders and manages risks and benefits. Participate in evaluating new ideas and explore creative solutions. Assesses problems, creates solutions where there are no procedures, guidelines or systems in place and implements them. Is a resource member for the project team. Minimum 5 years Pharmacy experience, in a range of production and distribution functions, project work, and pharmacy production technology and software projects. Preferred Qualifications:
Project management and change management experience and/or certifications. Leadership experience in a hospital pharmacy environment.
