Position:

Pharmacy Technician

Casual:

Less than 24 hours per week

Availability:

Weekdays and weekends - mornings, afternoons, and evenings

Responsibilities:

Ensure that all customers are pleasantly welcomed and handle special customer requests in an efficient and friendly manner Assist the Pharmacist with the preparation, packaging, and distribution of patient prescriptions Prepare, maintain, and organize dosettes Be familiar with compounding, blister packs and vial filling Maintain patient and drug information files and assist Pharmacist in identifying required professional care services Ensure proper receiving procedures are followed in relation to receiving of OTC, RX, and narcotics Ensure proper inventory levels are maintained for all prescription products and damaged or outdated merchandise is handled properly Adhere to established laws, regulations, and standards including the Health Information Act, Pharmacy and Drug Act, Health Professions Act, and all other regulations that govern the Pharmacy Maintain a high degree of discretion and professionalism Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; some heavy lifting is required Other duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications:

Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Solid understanding of role expectations and ability to refer to the pharmacist when required CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program Registered with the Alberta College of Pharmacy as a Technician Compounding, blister packs, and vial filling experience
