Your Opportunity:
Core duties may include, but are not limited to: Order entry, preparation, repackaging and final product checking of chemotherapy, sterile and non-sterile products, individual patient prescriptions, and ward stock. Provide accurate and efficient dispensing of medication. Provide guidance to and assist with the training and orientation of staff and students. Provide direction and supervision to Pharmacy Assistants in their day-to-day duties. Provide clinical support, obtaining information to facilitate medication reconciliation activities including patient interview and clarifies discrepancies and/or collects and organizes information to support the provision of direct patient care. Builds interactive relationships with all members of the healthcare team including communicating with nursing staff to clarify orders and requests, triaging information requests and distribution issues. Maintain a high standard of performance through completion of internal validation programs that assess proficiency in identified tasks such as aseptic technique, computer order entry, chemotherapy preparation and final product checking. Participate in inventory management duties. Participate in special projects and programs as assigned. Maintain department records, statistics and prepare reports as required. As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician. Additional Required Qualifications:
As required. Preferred Qualifications:
Recent PLC experience preferred. Experience in the last 5 yrs in pediatric or neonatal patient population. Experience in dispensing Investigational Drug and SAP. Membership in a relevant pharmacy professional organization. 1+ yrs experience with Connect Care/Epic Willow Inpatient computer program & Checking Certified within the last 5 yrs. Experience in a Clinically Deployed Technician Role and obtaining a Best Possible Medication History in a clinical setting within the last 2 yrs an asset.
