This role offers an opportunity for learning and growth, as well as the chance to take on both clinical and managerial challenges. The position will provide exposure to nonsterile level C compounding, and while prior compounding experience is desirable, it is not mandatory, as we can train you if needed. You can also expect exposure to Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT) in this role, although the branch is not a dedicated addictions pharmacy, but works to collaborate and assist our other dedicated addictions specialty branch. You will be working in close collaboration with, and reporting directly to, the Lead pharmacy manager / proprietor\'s agent. Tremendous flexibility will be offered in terms of plans, goals, vision, career, training, scheduling, compensation, and more. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the branch from the front with a strong personality, with the opportunity to manage their own domain. Fairness is expected in both directions, with the expectation of fair results as well. Your Duties:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, ensuring that the focus is on clinical services and patient care.
  • Prioritize prescription safety and technical functions, delegating tasks to Pharmacy Assistants when available.
  • Initiate care plans, follow up, and document.
  • Collect relevant patient, drug, and disease information.
  • Identify actual and potential drug-related problems.
  • Monitor medication adherence and provide patient counseling for new therapy, determining patient understanding.
  • Tailor counseling to the needs and concerns of the patient, such as literacy, hearing loss, privacy, etc.
  • Manage inventory, ensure medication availability, and oversee the dispensing process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and pharmacy policies.
  • Lead and mentor pharmacy staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
  • Current license to practice pharmacy in the province of Alberta.
  • Injection certification.
  • APA certification (or eligible and willing to acquire it asap)
  • Previous experience in a retail pharmacy setting, with demonstrated leadership and management skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $55.00-$60.00 per hour Schedule:
