Position:
We are looking for an enthusiastic full-time Pharmacy Manager at our location at Queen's University in Kingston. They will manage the overall operations of the Pharmacy, as well as practice to their full scope in providing professional services, dispensing and administering medication.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain all requirements as a Designated Manager with OCP
Consistently create a welcoming environment for all staff and patients
Counsel patients for Rx and OTC products and services
Handle difficult and/or complicated situations and follows-up with patients, as needed
Verify prescriptions details with the prescriber when required
Document and follow-up on medication incidents and promote safe medication practices
Proactively follow up with irregularities with scripts processed at the pharmacy
Periodically review and adjust pharmacy workflows
Maintain an approved drug and controlled substance list and verify expiry dates
Ensure Rx and OTC inventory levels are appropriate and control costs and expenses
Regularly communicate with Senior Leadership to discuss strengths, opportunities, and trends in the business
Root cause analysis for discrepancies or issues within the dispensary
Conduct Medication Reviews for clients
Implement proper pricing and receiving procedures to minimize shrinkage in such areas as damaged goods, returns, internal and external theft
Monthly and annual financial reporting and budgeting
Maintain appropriate staffing of pharmacy, including coaching, delegating of tasks, health & safety requirements
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
3+ years' experience as a pharmacist
Registered to practice as a pharmacist (Part A) with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
Ability to achieve results and take on new opportunities with a positive mindset
Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
Experience with Kroll
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Detail oriented
