We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead our pharmacy operations within a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will oversee daily pharmacy functions, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and provide exceptional patient care. This leadership role requires a strong background in hospital or acute care environments, along with excellent management and communication skills. The Pharmacy Manager will play a vital role in maintaining medication safety, managing pharmacy staff, and supporting clinical teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Oversee all pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, inventory management, and regulatory compliance
Supervise pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and support patient care initiatives
Ensure accurate medication administration and adherence to safety protocols
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, pharmaceutical laws, and hospital policies
Implement procedures for medication storage, handling, and documentation in accordance with legal standards
Manage medication procurement and inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking
Conduct regular audits to ensure quality control and compliance with accreditation standards
Provide education and training on medication use and safety for staff and patients as needed
Qualifications
Valid pharmacist license with current registration With Alberta College Of Pharmacy
Minimum 3 Years Of Experience as a Clinical Pharmacist
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient care protocols
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
Experience in Compounding is an asset
