The Opportunity:
The Pharmacy Clerk has primary responsibility for accurately picking and packing prescription orders, preparing orders for delivery, arranging courier shipments, ordering supplies, scanning prescription/delivery paperwork, maintaining inventory, receiving stock, general pharmacy maintenance/cleaning and occasional deliveries. In addition, the Pharmacy Clerk will assist with administrative duties including processing statements and payments, triaging phone calls, prescription processing and other duties as assigned. The Pharmacy Clerk is expected to participate in all aspects of Sentrex Pharmacy required of a team player. All roles at Sentrex Pharmacy may be cross trained as permitted by scope of practice, and you may be required to help out in other areas of the pharmacy.
A Day in the Life (What you will do here):
Pick, label and package medication orders
Prepare orders for delivery
Arrange courier shipments
Maintaining accurate drug and supply inventory including purchasing and receiving medications and supply items, checking expiration dates, assist with ordering and perform scheduled inventory counts
Scan/file pharmacy paperwork including prescription and delivery records
Assist with prescription processing, preparation of compounding worksheets (where applicable) and reporting
Triage incoming phone calls
General maintenance/cleaning of pharmacy
Deliver/pick up orders on an occasional basis
Assist with processing account payments and account receivable statements
Adherence to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operation procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements as set out by the provincial pharmacy regulatory authority
Actively contribute to the ongoing review of policies and procedures as they pertain to pharmacy operations
Monitoring of fridge temperatures and reporting any variances directly to the Pharmacy Manager/designate
Attends and participates in staff meetings
Perform other duties as assigned by manager
What you need to ensure you are set up for success:
High school diploma
Previous experience working in a pharmacy setting an asset
Experience with Kroll and MS Office an asset
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English required. Ability to communicate in other languages an asset.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to self-manage time, set daily priorities and multi-task in order to meet various competing work deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently as well as within a team
