Fruitland Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients and residents in a well-organized, efficient pharmacy setting.

Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or technician in Canada is

mandatory.*
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology,

prescription processing

, and dispensing procedures. Compounding experience is considered an asset. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems is required. Fillware knowledge is an asset. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Respond to customer inquiries, providing accurate and helpful information. Assist customers in locating and selecting products, including over-the-counter medications and health-related items. Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescription medications. Ensure accurate counting, labeling and packaging of prescription medications. Perform medication inventory management, including stock rotation and monitoring expiry dates. Maintain a clean and organized dispensing area, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations. Receive and review prescriptions for completeness and accuracy. Enter prescription information into the pharmacy software system. Collaborate with the pharmacist to clarify prescription details or resolve any issues. Assist in maintaining prescription files and records. Perform general administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence. Familiar with accurately making Compliance Packages Maintain and update patient profiles, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information. Assist in the preparation and submission of insurance claims. Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations. Other duties as assigned.

Schedule

Monday to Friday (3-4 days per week) Weekend availability
