Job Responsibilities
Dispensary Support
Assist in dispensing prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
Count, label, and prepare medications
Answer phones, process payments, manage inventory, and monitor expiry dates
Patient & Community Support
Coach clients on weight loss goals following the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol (training provided)
Support and update the pharmacy's Facebook page with regular posts
Front Shop & Administration
Assist with front shop customer service
Perform ordering and general administrative duties

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medications to patients. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience in LTC pharmacy, critical care, or hospital settings is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and concerns regarding medications
Support medication administration processes, including IV infusion when necessary
Maintain accurate records of medication intake and ensure compliance with medical terminology standards
Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure the safe preparation of sterile products
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care in acute care settings
Perform inventory management tasks, including ordering and restocking medications
Assist with the training of new pharmacy staff as needed
Requirements
Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is preferred
Familiarity with LTC pharmacy practices and critical care environments is a plus
Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals
Ability to demonstrate effective patient care practices and provide high-quality patient service
Knowledge of IV infusion processes and aseptic techniques is beneficial
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in a busy pharmacy setting
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated
