Our comprehensive pharmacy services include prescription services, non-sterile compounding (both human and veterinary, levels A-C), vaccinations, compliance packaging, medication reviews, minor ailments prescribing, and Canada-wide prescription delivery.
Position Overview:
We are in search of a Pharmacy Assistant/Compounding Specialist to support both dispensary and non-sterile compounding operations under the supervision of a pharmacist. Responsibilities:
Assist with filling prescriptions and compliance packaging.
Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
Answer pharmacy phones and assist customers with inquiries.
Manage inventory, including ordering and receiving.
Maintain the pharmacy in an orderly manner and ensure all paperwork is filed appropriately.
Assist patients at the cash register and process transactions.
Cleaning compounding lab (Note: cleaning of level C compounding rooms will be done by Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians)
Preparing level A & B non-sterile compounds (human and veterinary)
Performing compounding calculations to be checked by a registered pharmacy technician or pharmacist
Packaging compounds for delivery and patient special requests
Maintaining compounding equipment
Assist with preparing compounding marketing materials
Understanding, updating, and complying with standard operating procedures
Mentoring new pharmacy assistants/compounding specialists and students through their onboarding and training
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is technically proficient, personable, and possesses excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience at a Canadian community pharmacy and be familiar with Kroll. Previous compounding experience is a strong asset. A background and criminal record check are mandatory pre-employment requirements.
