Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at River East Pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy.

Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional customer service to patients and customers by greeting them, answering inquiries, and assisting with their medication needs. Assist pharmacists in accurately dispensing medications, ensuring the correct dosage, and labeling prescriptions appropriately. Receive, unpack, and stock incoming medications and supplies. Maintain inventory levels and track expiration dates to ensure product freshness and compliance. Organize and maintain prescription records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in accordance with legal requirements. Process and manage insurance claims and coordinate with third-party payers to ensure timely billing and reimbursement. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of medications and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, tidy, and well-organized at all times. Regularly sanitize surfaces, equipment, and workstations to maintain a hygienic environment. Handle cash transactions accurately and provide receipts to customers when necessary.

Requirements:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service. Detail-oriented and able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with pharmaceutical terminology, drug names, and prescription abbreviations. Basic computer skills and ability to use pharmacy software for data entry and processing. Strong ethics and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
