We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to support our pharmacy team in delivering safe, accurate, and timely care to our patients. The Pharmacy Assistant will work closely with pharmacists and other staff to ensure prescriptions are processed efficiently, customer needs are met with professionalism, and the pharmacy operates smoothly on a daily basis. Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists in preparing, packaging, and labeling prescriptions.
Enter and maintain accurate prescription and patient information in pharmacy software.
Manage inventory by ordering, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies.
Provide friendly and professional customer service, including answering inquiries in person and over the phone.
Handle prescription pick-up and payment transactions.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy work area.
Support compliance with Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) standards and workplace policies.
Assist with administrative duties such as filing, faxing, and processing third-party insurance claims.
Requirements
Previous experience as a pharmacy assistant preferred.
Familiarity with pharmacy software (e.g., Kroll) is an asset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling prescriptions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to patient confidentiality and professionalism.
