About the role:

Reporting directly to the Inventory Management Team Lead, the Inventory Management Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for inventory management and supports procurement for Central Pharmacy Services located in Richmond Hill. The Inventory Management Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for carrying out daily inventory task related to inventory management, including, but not limited to placing Orders, maintaining MSLs, receiving orders, and investigating discrepancies. They will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining MMS by performing tasks like Holding tanks, updating UPCs, utilizing suggested orders and reviewing DIN equivalent reports.

What you will do:

Inventory Management:

  • Unpack and receive pharmacy totes inside pharmacy in a secure environment
  • Put away received pharmacy inventory in appropriate location in accordance with established workflow
  • Ensure stock rotation is completed and expired product is removed from the shelf and returned in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Perform cycle counts in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Carry out daily inventory task, including, but not limited to placing Orders, maintaining MSLs, receiving orders, investigating discrepancies
  • Order and maintain non-prescription merchandise in the dispensary, including stock rotation and the management of expired product
  • Reviews operations initiatives to determine inventory needs, taking into account current on hand inventory and the required lead times to ensure Central Pharmacy Services can execute on initiatives
  • Actively seeks out opportunities for improvement within the scope of Inventory Management to meet performance, quality and financial targets
  • Partners with operational site and other teams to ensure effective resolution of all inventory related issues
  • Maintain proper storage of medications within the pharmacy according to 5S principles
  • Manage returns and expired products in accordance with established disposal protocol (e.g. Stericycle One Box)
  • Prioritize recalls and immediately isolate product; quarantine until details of the recall are provided
  • Management of preferred generic product e.g. DSP
  • Maintain Overstock to ensure the uninterrupted supply of all products
  • Review flip daily for inventory related communication, including but not limited to Product Shortages and Availability Report, New Generics and Dedicated Supplier Products, and Product Appearance Changes.
  • Identify drug appearance changes effectively and accurately.
  • Track and communicate low stock and out of stock situations according to pharmacy procedures
Others:

What you will need:
  • Highschool Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a retail pharmacy or a central pharmacy facility
  • Knowledge of MMS and HealthWatch
  • Creative problem solver and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with a high degree of detail and accuracy while adapting to multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills of MS Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment where high attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Flexibility with shift timing

The successful candidate will be scheduled for 5 days a week of work, to support operations mainly on Sunday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Monday to Thursdays from 9:00am to 5:00 pm which may change depending on business needs. Initial training is to be discussed upon acceptance of the role.
