Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities generally include but are not limited to the following:

  • Processes drug and prescription orders using automated technology and manual assembly when required Verifies drug and prescription orders using computer screens/barcodes and visual means. In addition, the Pharmacy Assistant conducts an audit of manual pick orders to ensure quality standards
  • Operates automated machinery and related equipment in a continuous production operation to fill and pack drug and prescription orders
  • Performs restocking of automated dispensing systems
  • Examines quality of product and materials
  • Documents all information required, i.e. production records, for Quality Control purposes
  • Performs general maintenance and cleaning duties
  • Sort drug and prescription orders to ensure delivery to proper locations
  • Prepare shipping and invoicing documents
  • Assists with inventory control which includes ordering, maintaining and organizing appropriate inventory and packaging supplies to support dispensing activities
  • Performs receiving and stocking of incoming inventory and supplies
  • Performs break out and barcoding of manual pick products in preparation of order fulfillment
  • Verifies barcode labelling of manual pick products performed by other pharmacy staff
  • Conducts inventory audit counts as required
  • Assists with orientation of newly hired pharmacy personnel
  • Assists the pharmacists, as needed, to assure productivity and operational efficiencies
  • Routinely reviews and adheres to policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
General Responsibilities

General Responsibilities generally include but are not limited to the following:
  • Works with the Central Fill Pharmacy staff to ensure client-centered; safety-driven services throughout the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Solution
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in accordance with the professional standards and guidelines issued by the New Brunswick College of Pharmacists (NBCP) and other relevant professional guidelines and standards
  • Adheres to quality, operational and productivity standards
  • Adheres to company policies, shared principles and quality management guidelines.
  • Demonstrates attitudes and behaviors that align with McKesson Canada ICARE principles and values
  • Demonstrates and promotes compliance with all program specific performance metrics
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements

ESSENTIAL:
  • Excellent attitude and attendance record
  • Good understanding of MS software (Outlook, Word & Excel)
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Consistently acts in a professional manner
  • Ability to function is a fast-paced, continually changing and results-oriented environment
PREFERRED:
  • Previous work experience as a Pharmacy Assistant
  • Credentials that may qualify candidate as a Health Canada approved AQPIC (Alternate Qualified Person in Charge) Previous work experience with automation for unit dose packaging automation Good understanding of unit-dose packaging automation benefits, limitations and interdependencies Good understanding of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) Proficient in both official languages (French/English)
Working Conditions
  • Permanent Full-Time position: Sunday to Thursday evening shifts, 40 hours per week
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to work various shifts
  • Location: 286 Frenette Ave, Moncton, NB
  • Supervised by: Pharmacy Manager and/or Pharmacist
  • Reports to: Pharmacy Manager
  • Physical requirements include: lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods of time

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$14.39 - $23.98
