Your Opportunity:Pharmacy Assistants will work with Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists working to their full scope of practice. Under limited supervision of the Operations Manager, Pharmacy Assistants perform various medication related duties including: distribution, selection, repackaging medications, replenishment, tracking for outdated medications and perpetual inventory levels, and moderately complex clerical duties. Core duties may include but not limited to: transport pharmacy medications to patient care areas and other departments, refill patient medications, repackage and label pharmaceuticals final checked by Regulated healthcare professional, order and receive medication inventory and supplies as per quotas. Perform tasks for ward stock debit and credit including controlled substances according to procedure. Monitor inventory control of pharmaceuticals to minimize outdated medications. Perform routine physical cleaning and maintenance on pharmacy equipment, keeping work environment tidy and safe. Prepare reports from pharmacy systems including filing associated with all duties. Communicates unit-based and clinical issues to Regulated Pharmacy staff for resolution. Participate in hospital, departmental and/or quality assurance activities to ensure standards are maintained. Assist in training of new employees or students as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
