We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our community pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will have experience using Kroll pharmacy software, experience (or willingness to train) in compounding, and excellent customer service skills. This role includes working one Saturday per month.
Key Responsibilities
Use Kroll pharmacy software to enter new prescriptions and refill requests, manage patient records (allergies, insurance, prescriber info).
Assist in compounding tasks as required (e.g. creams, ointments, possibly simple topical/oral formulations) under pharmacist supervision.
Labeling, packaging, verifying expiry dates, DINs,
Inventory-management duties: ordering stock, receiving deliveries, checking expiry/rotations, returning product, adjusting for stock corrections.
Assist with third-party billing, communicating with insurers where necessary.
Answer phone calls; respond to customer and patient inquiries, including clarifying prescription information.
Provide excellent customer service: greet patients, resolve issues/referrals to pharmacist.
Assist with general pharmacy workflow: prescription pick-ups, OTC product enquiries.
Cover one Saturday per month.
Customer service is a must
Qualifications / Requirements
Prior experience using Kroll software required.
Experience in compounding (or relevant training), or proven ability to learn.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacy workflows.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team, reliably.
Availability to work one Saturday per month, in addition to regular weekday hours.
Reliable, with strong organizational skills.
Working Conditions
Pharmacy environment with both front-end (customer facing) and back-end tasks.
Supervised by a Pharmacist.
Physical requirements may include standing for long periods, lifting/moving stock, reaching shelves, bending.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly wage: $23.00/hr
