Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care and medication management. The ideal candidate will have experience in a pharmacy setting, particularly in long-term care (LTC) or acute care environments, and possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and aseptic techniques.

Duties

Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently. Provide excellent patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications. Support the intake process by gathering patient information and verifying medication orders. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety and health regulations. Perform IV infusion tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care outcomes. Document medication administration and maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory standards. Stay updated on pharmacy practices, medication therapies, and relevant medical terminology.

Qualifications

Previous experience in pharmacy is preferred.

Knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care is a plus. Experience as a pharmacy technician is highly desirable.
