We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective medication management for patients, providing expert advice on drug interactions, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. This role is essential in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services.
Responsibilities
Review and interpret physician orders to ensure accurate medication administration.
Dispense medications accurately and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop comprehensive medication management plans.
Monitor patient responses to medications and make necessary adjustments in consultation with medical staff.
Maintain accurate records of all medications dispensed and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Stay updated on new medications, therapies, and medical terminology relevant to patient care.
Qualifications
Must be registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
Strong understanding of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and maintaining high ethical standards.
Long-term care experience preferred. EMAR knowledge is an asset*.
