About the Opportunity
Under the supervision of the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacist Team Lead is accountable and responsible for ensuring safe and effective drug therapy for patients in a designated clinical area. The Pharmacist Team Lead maintains an active clinical pharmacy practice and is a leader in the provision of evidence based direct patient care activities. The Pharmacist Team Lead provides formal and informal education, participates in clinical research, and leads the implementation and evaluation of quality and patient safety initiatives designed to improve medication-use processes or pharmacy practice.
Additionally, they will actively precept pharmacy students and residents and ensure timely access to appropriate medications through collaboration with drug distribution systems. This role required communication, liaison, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, most significantly IPP&L, nursing and physician teams, multidisciplinary teams, departmental, zonal, and provincial committees and working groups.
