About the Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Manager of Oncology Clinical Programs, the Systemic Therapy Program (STP) Pharmacist hired to this position will have a primary focus on Standard Order Set development/ revision/dissemination within hematology; and systemic therapy quality improvement and safety. Working in collaboration with Cancer Site Teams, provincial stakeholders, and the STP Team, key responsibilities will include leadership and/or participation on various provincial working groups/committees, including chair of the NSCCP Hematology Order Set Working Group and membership in the Provincial Systemic Therapy Quality Improvement and Safety Committee. In addition, the STP Pharmacist will support drug funding reviews and approvals associated with cancer drug funding in hematology and provide coverage for other STP Pharmacists.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduation from a university program in Pharmacy
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program preferred
  • Eligible for licensure to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
  • Registered with the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada
  • Minimum five years\' clinical pharmacy experience; 3 of which are in oncology in a hospital setting preferred
  • Experience working with Standard Order Sets required.
  • Strong knowledge of cancer systemic therapy and modalities
  • Experience and knowledge of the review of clinical trials for scientific merit
  • Ability to acquire, analyze and report drug utilization data
  • Experience with quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

Permanent Full-Time Position

Monday- Friday Days; 75 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Incentives

$42.83 - $52.20 Hourly
