Powassan Clements IDA is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused
Pharmacist (R.Ph.)
to join our community pharmacy team in
Powassan, Ontario

Key Responsibilities
Patient-Centred Care
Provide comprehensive medication management by assessing therapy appropriateness, identifying and resolving drug-related issues, and optimizing patient outcomes.
Conduct medication reviews and disease state counselling.
Administer injections and provide smoking cessation support.
Adapt and renew prescriptions as permitted under OCP guidelines.
Offer minor ailment prescribing and patient education on proper medication use, side effects, and adherence.
Respond to drug information inquiries and advise on over-the-counter and natural health products.
Dispensing & Verification
Perform final clinical checks on all prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness.
Supervise and support technicians and assistants in all dispensing and compounding processes.
Maintain complete documentation for dispensing activities and clinical interventions.
Communication & Collaboration
Build strong relationships with local healthcare providers to support coordinated patient care.
Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and the pharmacy team.
Participate in community outreach and health initiatives.
Operational Excellence
Ensure compliance with all OCP, provincial, and federal regulations.
Maintain accurate patient and narcotic records while ensuring confidentiality.
Manage inventory, reconcile controlled substances, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Team Mentorship
Mentor and train pharmacy staff, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and interns.
Qualifications
Licensed and in good standing with the
Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP)
.
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.Sc.Phm.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
Valid injection certification and current CPR/First Aid.
Proven experience in a community pharmacy setting.
Strong clinical knowledge, patient assessment, and communication skills.
Proficiency with
Kroll
or
Propel
software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
