Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate new graduate to join our pharmacy team. This role allows you to practice the full scope of pharmacy practice, including prescribing for minor ailments, managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, offering culturally sensitive care to Indigenous patients, performing Ontario MedsCheck services, and more. You will work closely with experienced professionals to ensure safe and accurate medication dispensing, while also gaining the experience needed to further develop your clinical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Practice the full scope of pharmacy practice in accordance with Ontario's regulations, including prescribing for minor ailments (e.g., colds, flu, allergies, etc.).
Perform Ontario MedsCheck consultations, reviewing patients' medications, identifying drug interactions, and offering counseling to ensure proper medication usage.
Assist in the management of chronic conditions like diabetes, providing patient counseling on medications, lifestyle changes, and blood sugar monitoring.
Offer individualized care plans for Indigenous patients, respecting their cultural beliefs and healthcare needs.
Provide medication therapy management and collaborate with other healthcare professionals (physicians, nurses, etc.) to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
Educate patients on disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and the management of chronic conditions.
Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and maintain accurate patient records.
Oversee dispensing of medication including presscription input, filling, and counselling
Supervise and mentor pharmacy technician and other staff to ensure smooth operations and a high standard of patient care.
Maintain all records required in accordance with legislation, standards of practice, and policy.
Maintain franchise standards in store operation and appearance.
Gain knowledge in business operations and financials
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in pharmacy (PharmD preferred).
Recent graduate with the ability to practice the full scope of pharmacy practice in Ontario.
Willingness and enthusiasm to learn, develop, and apply clinical skills in a rural setting.
Ability to perform Ontario MedsCheck consultations, or willingness to undergo any necessary training.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and other healthcare professionals.
A compassionate, patient-focused approach with a commitment to improving the health of the community.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong problem-solving skills including experience formulating and executing action plans.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
