Your Opportunity:Reporting to the Clinical Practice Manager - South, the Clinical Practice Leader (CPL) maintains a clinical practice in their area of specialty, fosters clinical pharmacy practice development, and contributes to the advancement of clinical practice. The CPL is recognized as an expert clinical practitioner and serves as a resource for an area of specialty. A key component of this position includes providing clinical support and mentorship and facilitating training for pharmacy staff in Central and Southern Alberta (defined as Calgary, Central, and South zones). Advancement of clinical practice is achieved through developing and ensuring implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and standards as well as research or scholarly contributions to the medical and pharmacy literature. The CPL functions as a leader, mentor, and change agent. Duties may involve travel within the area of responsibility. Location is negotiable within Central Zone.Description:As a Pharmacist II, you will provide clinical leadership for the activities of the Pharmacy Department or region. This includes training and general instruction for staff along with providing specialized knowledge and expertise in regards to pharmacy practice.

Required Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP). Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a hospital residency OR post-entry-to-practice degree in clinical pharmacy. An equivalent combination of an entry-to-practice degree (PharmD or baccalaureate) and several years of advanced clinical practice experience may be considered. Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in hospital or related healthcare setting. Has, or demonstrates a plan to obtain, Additional Prescribing Authority with the Alberta College of Pharmacists. Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and to effectively contribute to patient care. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change Ability to translate complex concepts into understandable components. Demonstrated abilities in coaching, teaching, inspiring and building confidence in others. Experience and knowledge regarding best pharmacist practice, within Alberta and throughout Canada is essential to understanding and positioning Pharmacy from a clinical perspective. Experience in direct patient care environment within the previous 5 years. Proven leadership abilities and an understanding of concepts of adult learning. Demonstrated abilities in research and/or scholarly activity. Ability to prioritize workload and multiple projects on an ongoing basis to meet the needs of a dynamic work environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills Project management skills in order to plan, develop and implement new programs. Preferred Qualifications:Proven ability to foster partnerships with stakeholders inside and outside of Pharmacy. Ability to think in abstract concepts related to the future provision of pharmacy practice.
