Your Opportunity:

This is a new, part-time clinical pharmacist position in the emergency department (ED) of Northeast Community Health Centre (NECHC). The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge and expertise to quickly assess clinical data and deliver direct patient care, playing a key role in the safe and effective use of medications by working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary health care team. The ideal candidate has a passion for direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency environment and is able to gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, family, and health care team through competent patient assessment, monitoring and effective communication. Some responsibilities include: -identifying, resolving, and preventing drug-related problems -supports the appropriate use of medications within the AHS formulary -antimicrobial selection/management and advising IV therapy clinic -responding to resuscitations in the emergency department -acts as a consultant to providers on all drug related issues -ensures seamless transitions from the emergency department including assistance in chronic disease management -quality improvement and medication safety -precepting pharmacy students -supporting education of physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing and other health care professionals Other key attributes of the successful candidate include the ability to work independently, maintenance of high visibility in the ED so team members can engage, strong problem-solving skills, team player, strong drive for continuous learning and self-improvement, strong knowledge of opioid use disorder management, strong knowledge of infectious disease and treatment options and strong interpersonal skills. Description:

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) from the Alberta College of Pharmacy is required. Current pharmacy experience in an urgent care setting or acute hospital care setting providing comprehensive medication management services is required. Preferred Qualifications:

Connect Care experience. Successful completion of an accredited Residency Program. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
