Job Description

The Pharmacist's primary function in the hospital retail setting is the provision of professional retail pharmacy services for the patient population and staff located at the Hamilton General Hospital. The Pharmacist will work in a collaborative model with pharmacy technicians who are registered or in the process of becoming registered enabling the pharmacist to focus on the provision of more comprehensive patient care services. The Pharmacist will demonstrate patient-centered care and excellent communications skills in conducting professional services such as MedsCheck, Pharmaceutical Opinion, new prescription patient counseling and patient education.
Qualifications 1. Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A of Register)
2. Minimum 1 year prior retail pharmacy experience
3. Demonstrated retail pharmacy information system computer skills
4. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, problem-solving and organizational skills
5. Demonstrated commitment to professional development including knowledge related to new regulatory framework and professional services
6. Hospital pharmacy experience an asset
