About the Opportunity
Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Clinical Services, the Pharmacist will play a key role in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to inpatients and outpatients as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. The Pharmacist's responsibilities include patient counseling, medication monitoring, mentoring pharmacy students, conducting drug utilization reviews, and providing education and evidence-based drug information. The primary role is contributing to the STI Care Now Program and involves direct patient care and serving as a liaison with Community Pharmacists and Public Health. In addition, the Pharmacist will participate in clinical pharmacy research in collaboration with the Clinical Therapeutics and Prophylactics Lead, supporting ongoing initiatives to advance research priorities and therapeutic practices. The Pharmacist will be available to contribute to other workstreams within the Emerging and Re-Emerging Infections (ERI) Pharmacy Consult Services, including the Central Zone inpatient immunization, influenza and COVID-19 treatment teams, inpatient clinical care, and other initiatives addressing emerging or re-emerging infectious diseases.
