Duties

Review and interpret physician orders to ensure appropriate medication therapy. Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently. Provide medication counseling and education to patients and their families. Monitor patient outcomes and adjust medication regimens as necessary. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care in acute care settings. Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient interactions. Stay updated on medical terminology, drug interactions, and best practices in pharmacy. Participate in pediatric care initiatives, ensuring the safe administration of medications for younger patients.

Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution. Active pharmacist license in the state of practice. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and acute care practices. Experience in medication administration and patient care within a hospital environment is preferred. Familiarity with pediatric pharmacotherapy is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate patients effectively. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in medication dispensing.
