Pharmacy Assistant

to support our pharmacy operations and contribute to the care and satisfaction of our patients.

The Pharmacy Assistant will work under the supervision of the licensed pharmacist to assist in the preparation, packaging, and distribution of medications, and to ensure smooth daily pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will be organized, customer-service oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Dispensary & Patient Support

Prepare and label prescriptions under the direction and final check of the pharmacist Input prescription data accurately into

Kroll pharmacy software

Retrieve and count medications, prepare blister packs, and manage refills Assist patients with drop-offs, pick-ups, and general inquiries Provide friendly and professional customer service at the pharmacy counter Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with PHIPA regulations

Inventory & Administrative Tasks

Maintain stock levels and track medication inventory Order, receive, and shelve pharmaceutical supplies and products Help maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance in the dispensary Prepare documentation and assist with billing and third-party insurance claims Coordinate with clinics, physicians, and insurance providers as needed

Qualifications

Completion of a recognized

Pharmacy Assistant

or

Pharmacy Technician

program (or equivalent experience) Proficiency in

Kroll pharmacy software

is

strongly preferred

Basic knowledge of prescription drugs, pharmacy terminology, and procedures Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively as part of a team

Requirements

Proof of education and/or relevant experience Criminal background check Must be legally eligible to work in Ontario, Canada Professional references upon request

Preferred Assets

Experience working in a retail or clinic-based pharmacy Familiarity with OHIP and private insurance billing processes Fluency in multiple languages is considered an asset Knowledge of pharmacy workflow in a multidisciplinary medical setting
