Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Finishing Operator
Position Summary
Reporting to the Department Supervisor this position is accountable for becoming trained in a reasonable time frame in all aspects of the Finishing Department including but not limited to sorting, polishing, printing, packaging, and reprocessing of capsules.
This position is located in Strathroy, Ontario, one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full-service turnkey solutions.
Shifts: 12 hour Continental Shifts (Days and Nights)
The Role
Communicates with operators from previous shift - during shift change, regarding necessary facts and current events related to the daily operations
Checks capsule hardness and pulls stacks into the Finishing Area.
Identify capsules for defects during visual examinations as per accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
Place sorted capsules into deeps for future processing
Polish capsules as required
Participates in Reprocessing of capsules as required.
Complete all documentation required as per Master Batch Production Records
Perform and complete Cleaning Logs for Area and equipment
Cleans, maintains and operates all equipment for both Integrated Lines, including but not limited to: roller grader, twin separator, printers, symetix, bagger, and sealer.
The Candidate
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred
Additional education would be considered an asset
Preferred 2 years+ of experience in a cGMP or other regulated work facility
Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
Use of manual dexterity is required.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend, or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
There is also the potential exposure to chemicals.
Pay: Starts at $20.65 per hour and an additional $1.50 premium for night shift
