?Position Title: Pet Store Supervisor

?Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

?Hours: 40 hours per week

?Wage: $30.00 per hour, plus overtime pay as per provincial regulations

Job Duties and Responsibilities

?

?Supervise and coordinate the daily work of retail associates, reception/cash staff, and grooming support staff to ensure smooth operations across both pet grooming services and retail sales.



?

?Oversee grooming appointment flow, including customer check-in, pick-up/drop-off, waiting area management, and coordination between groomers and front-desk staff.



?

?Prepare weekly and shift schedules based on store traffic patterns and grooming booking volume; assign duties related to customer service, cashiering, stocking, online order fulfillment, and receiving.



?

?Handle escalated customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints related to grooming services and retail purchases, including service expectations, scheduling issues, and product concerns, and ensure timely resolution.



?

?Authorize payments, refunds, exchanges, discounts, and returns in accordance with company policies; oversee cash handling, POS procedures, and daily reconciliation.



?

?Monitor inventory levels of pet food, treats, toys, grooming tools, and care products; coordinate ordering, receiving, cycle counts, and accurate shelf stocking.



?

?Communicate with suppliers regarding purchasing, deliveries, and product availability; verify deliveries against invoices and ensure proper storage.



?

?Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are maintained throughout retail areas, grooming spaces, bathing stations, and shared customer areas, following company procedures and pet safety guidelines.

?Support sales growth by implementing merchandising plans, seasonal promotions, upselling and cross-selling, and recommending grooming services, add-ons, memberships, or service packages.



?

?Oversee basic e-commerce operations, including product listing updates, online order processing, in-store pickup coordination, shipping, and after-sales support.



?

?Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new staff in areas such as customer service, product knowledge, basic pet safety awareness, sanitation practices, and POS procedures; monitor staff performance and attendance.



?

?Make day-to-day operational decisions to ensure efficient store operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.



?

?Prepare and submit operational reports related to sales performance, inventory status, staffing, scheduling, and customer feedback for management review.



Qualifications

?

?Education: Completion of secondary school required.



?

?Experience:



?

?At least 1-2 years of experience in retail, customer service, or pet-related services required.



?

?Experience in a supervisory, lead, or senior role is preferred.



?

?Experience in a pet grooming, veterinary, or service-based environment is considered an asset.
