Personal Trainer/Kinesiologist.
Peak Fitness is a small personal training company operating on the westside of Vancouver - predominately in Kitsilano. We have two main facets to our company: personal training with our private clientele and a corporate health and wellness programme.
Our private personal training includes both 60-minute single and double Personal Training sessions. Though we mainly train in the gym, we also train clients at their homes, as well in nearby parks.
Peak Fitness has foundational elements which our trainers are urged to refer back to during their sessions. It is, however, then up to the individual trainer to add their own personal touch to their programme delivery. We encourage creativity and the promotion of functional, purposeful movements. We are looking for a reliable, driven individual who is resourceful, eager, and possesses an excellent work ethic with the knowledge and experience to keep the clients moving, helping them to see positive benefits of being physically active.
The corporate health and wellness programme focuses on promoting a healthy environment in the workplace. We do this by offering single, partner, and group personal training sessions for office workers. The second and most popular portion of our corporate package is the team building services we offer. Staff members are taken to the great outdoors (under the supervision of our mountain guide) to experience rock climbing, canyoneering, whitewater rafting, hiking, and more.
Our goal is to promote an active and healthy lifestyle that is not entirely lived in the gym, but using the gym as a springboard to further expand clients' abilities outside the gym walls.
This position would be part-time to begin with: Monday-Friday, working some weekends is an option. As time goes on, we would build the hours to a 25-40+ hour week.
Opportunities to earn additional income alongside the personal training hours: social media management, filming of content for our app, home programming for clients, planning and implementing events.
Key Traits:
-Friendly and charismatic individual; self-driven and eager to work as part of a small team.
-A Sport Science degree is a bonus, but not a requirement for the right candidate.
-Additional qualifications or skillsets are an added bonus: FST, RMT, social media management etc would be ideal for this role.
Work Experience:
-Some experience as a personal trainer is preferred; however, for the right candidate, this is not a pre-requisite.
- Proficiency in executing the main compound lifts and experience training yourself is highly encouraged.
-You must be a client-oriented individual and capable of reading the room, taking client cues, and maintaining appropriate conversation throughout the client's training hour.
