Level 2

Personal Trainer

position. The Level 2 Personal Trainer is expected to have at least 5 years of Training experience and a higher level of education or certifications as listed below. The Personal Trainer helps member clients achieve their fitness and health goals through motivating, educating and instructing them in and through exercise; individually or in small groups. The Personal Trainer may also instruct group fitness classes (drop-in or registered) for which they are qualified.

What you will do:



Provide technical strength and conditioning expertise specific to member's needs Provide comprehensive (general and specific) evaluations and assessments for each client Adapt program(s) to best meet the member's needs Work cohesively with other Personal Trainers, CWC Professionals, and Staff Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements in processes for training Monitor facility and equipment; advise of equipment in need of maintenance or repair Attend all regularly scheduled staff and in-service meetings and present once a year to the Personal Training Team in an area of expertise within fitness Assist with the set up and takedown of special service areas and annual Fitness Centre cleaning
Maintain and pursue certifications within the fitness field

Qualifications



Minimum 5 years of Personal Training experience

Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Movement Science, or other related field

CPR C (recertified every year) and Standard Fist Aid (recertified every three years)

Must possess one of the following certifications:

a. CSEP - Certified Personal Trainer or Certified Exercise Physiologist

b. NSCA - Certified Personal Trainer

Other certifications that would be an asset include:

c. CSCS - Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

d. NCCP Olympic Weightlifting, Kettlebell, TRX, etc.

e. Certification in recognized specialties of group fitness

Strong communication skills and exceptional customer service skills

High energy and enjoy working in fast paced, challenging, and changing environment

Ability to work independently, cohesively and supportively in a team environment

Ability to work flexible hours (weekends, early mornings, afternoon, and late nights)

Maintain a reasonable level of personal fitness, representative of your knowledge and ability
